New single from Kilkenny band The Donnys is out today!

Don't miss their Ryan's gig tomorrow night!

New single from Kilkenny band The Donnys is out today!

It’s shaping up to be a big weekend for Kilkenny rockers The Donnys - they have a single out today (Friday) and headline the Back to the Back gig on Saturday in Ryan’s.

The self-penned single, ‘Back and Forth,’ is the lads second release. It was written and first performed in the space of a few days, last summer, but since has been honed to perfection by rehearsal and performance. Initially it was inspired by the music of ACDC but has become more their own as it evolved.

The Donnys recorded the single at Crossroads Studio in Ballycallan.

Back and Forth is a follow up to their first single, released last February, to a good reception. It was a popular stream on Spotify and got airplay on Kilkenny radio stations. The Donnys have also had a lot of fun playing it live.

Back and Forth is available now on Spotify, Soundcloud, Apple Music or wherever you get your music.

Meanwhile, the band is gearing up for a big night in Ryan’s, Friary Street, on Saturday night.  Back to the Back sees The Donnys on stage back at the venue of their first live gig, almost a year ago.

The lads have invited along some of their musical friends to ensure a great night. Talented bands from Enniscorthy, Peer Pleasure and Crimson, recently shared the stage with The Donnys at a gig at the Presentation Arts Centre in Enniscorthy, which has been one of their favourite gigs to play.

They will be followed by local DJ Adam Ankudovich.

Tickets for Back to the Back are €5 and are on sale now on Eventbrite, or on the door - but tickets are selling fast! CLICK HERE for tickets.

The Donnys are really excited for this gig, coming hot on the heels of their successful gig in Ryan’s during the Kilkenny Roots Festival. Their first experience of playing at a festival weekend, the name ‘The Donnys’ is now becoming well known in the city, more venues are asking them to play gigs, and they’re now looking to spread their wings further afield.
