Kilkenny legends to swap hurls for cricket bats in aid of Teac Tom

Kilkenny hurling and camogie legends including TJ Reid, Liam Fennelly, Aidan Fogarty, David Herity, Michael Kavanagh, Noel Skehan, Denise Gaule, Ann Downey, Breda Holmes, Angela Downey and Miriam Walsh will be taking part in a spectacular fundraiser this Sunday (August 27) at Kilkenny Cricket Club in aid of Teac Tom.

A huge family day out is planned at the club's grounds in Castle Blunden and there will be raffle prizes on the day including VIP Electric Picnic tickets, concert tickets for the 3Arena and an afternoon tea package at the River Court Hotel.

Ireland international cricketer Simi Singh will also be there on the day as the hurlers and camogie players play in a charity cricket match alongside the members of Kilkenny Cricket Club.

There will also be food stalls and fun games available for kids to play, with a kids cricket blitz at 12pm.

All ages are welcome to try their hand at cricket too, as it's all part of the fun.

The big charity cricket match gets underway at 2pm.

There's a €5 gate fee per car but it's all for a very worthy cause - Teac Tom.

Teac Tom provides mental health support and suicide intervention services to those in need.

The organisation is based in Kilkenny City with a second centre in Stradbally, County Laois.

Without the generosity and support of individuals, businesses and the wider community, they would not be able to keep their doors open.

The cricket club grounds are located on the R695 Ballycallan/Kilmanagh Road, beside Kilkenny Self Storage, R95 PW0H.
