A scene from The Inheritance
A new television drama series that was filmed in multiple locations across Kilkenny is set to air on Channel 5 tonight (Monday).
Around 100 cast and crew members stayed in Kilkenny for the duration of the shoot, providing a major boost to the economy.
The drama is produced by Richard Cook, who is well known locally as the founder of The Cat Laughs Festival and Subtitle and was also involved in the setting up of Kilkenomics.
Many local people were also cast as extras for the filming of the series.
The plot of ‘The Inheritance’ focuses on three siblings who are left reeling after the unexpected death of their father.
Secrets are exploded, relationships ripped apart, and lives lost as they try desperately to claw back the inheritance that they have lost.
It features a stellar cast including Rob James-Collier, Larry Lamb, Kevin Whately, Gaynor Faye and Jemima Rooper.
The show will premiere on Channel 5 at 9pm.
