Bagenalstown, just over the Kilkenny border, is home to a week of live events as part of the COMMUNE programme that promises to be full of entertainment through the 12th-18th of August.
From the event organisers of the COMMUNE event:
Muine Bheag Arts is pleased to present COMMUNE - a programme of live events in the Muine Bheag Community Centre from 12th - 18th August. The programme invites artists, community organisers, graduates-in-residence, gardeners, zine-makers, visitors and friends to contribute to an evolving and expanding programme.
COMMUNE takes inspiration from self-organised communities and is based on values of collectivity, exchange and experimentation. The Community Centre will act as a shared space to host talks, workshops, performances, screenings and an exhibition of self-published artists’ books.
The programme includes contributions from:
Bagenalstown Community Gardens, Millie Case, Mollie Donegan, Síofra Egan & Ruby Fitzsimons, Phil Collins, Aoife Ní Dhuinn & Falon Weaver, Isadora Epstein & Cóilín O’Connell, Peter Glasgow & Alex Paveley, Chloe Maguire (Distro: The Reading Room), Rory Mullen, Rosalind Nashashibi, NIVAL, Rohana Perera, Amy Strzoda and Fabrizio Terranova.
