Kilkenny's Iverk Show - What to know before you go!

The countdown is on to the Iverk Show in Piltown. One of the very best agricultural shows in Ireland, the Show Society is now almost 200 years old!

Read on for all the info you need before you go! (Scroll down to the bottom for a map of the showgrounds).

WHEN

The Iverk Show will be held on Saturday, August 24. Gates open early - 8.30am. Get there before the crowds!

WHERE

The Iverk Showgrounds are in Piltown. Eircode E32 PD81. The show site will be signposted on approach roads from all directions, with directions to free car parks adjacent to the show site. Please follow the directions of gardaí and show stewards. The site is 6km from Carrick on Suir, 22km from Waterford and 38km from Kilkenny City.

WHAT

• Take part in (entries now closed) or watch the competition classes for all ages in horses, cattle and sheep.
• Check out the entries in the poultry, fruit, veg, flowers, arts, crafts, flower arranging, photography and baking competitions.
• Watch the show jumping.
• Enter your pet in the dog show and your child in the Bonny Baby competition!
• Over 300 trade stand, food market, garden area, and a small industries marquee.
• Fashion Show, Most Appropriate Dressed Lady prize, Tug-O-War and an extended dancing floor.
• Childrens play area and all day entertainment.
• Admission: Adults €15, Students €10 with Student ID, Children Under 12 years are free, if accompanied by an adult.

FACILITIES

• On-site facilities will include food and drink vendors, toilet facilities and medical services at a few locations as well as the main office.
• Breakfast will be available at the catering marquee from 7.30am.  A variety of food will be available throughout the show grounds, all day.
• Bar facilities are provided on site by Anthony’s Inn and will be located beside the Catering Marquee in Field 2.
• Wristbands for children are available at the main gate. Minders are asked to write their mobile number on it and secure it to the child’s wrist.
