Why Hedgerows Matter

Hedgerows are a vital part of Ireland’s cultural and ecological heritage. They provide biodiversity, shelter, and a living connection to our past.

“Know Your Hedgerows aims to connect communities to their local landscapes and generate community-led stewardship of our hedgerows as a vital resource for biodiversity and connection to our heritage.”
Kevin Mahon, Chairperson, Kilkenny LEADER Partnership
