Much-loved Kilkenny attraction to feature on upcoming TV episode

Kilkenny’s Jurassic Newpark is set to feature on an upcoming episode of Siar Linn on CÚLA, TG4’s children’s channel.

The local attraction, at Newpark Hotel, is part of on Episode 1, screening on Tuesday April 14. The title of the episode is Páirc na nDineasár, and the show will run for 12 weeks. 

Jurassic Newpark is the hotel’s much-loved outdoor adventure experience set within the hotel grounds, offered complimentary for resident guests.

Designed to encourage imagination, exploration and shared play, Jurassic Newpark has become a defining part of the Newpark experience for families travelling from across Ireland. Younger guests can also enjoy crafts and games at the Jurassic Juniors Kids Camp with JJ the Dinosaur mascot.

Meanwhile, families are invited to step into a ‘world of pure imagination’ this Easter at the Newpark Hotel Kilkenny’s Wonka Inspired Easter Experience, a whimsical, story-led celebration running until April 12 across the hotel grounds and at Jurassic Newpark. Open to both hotel guests and day visitors, the experience introduces a brand new Wonka-themed area within Jurassic Newpark, adding an extra layer of imagination and adventure to one of Ireland’s best-loved family destinations for the Easter season.

Jurassic Newpark, the hotel’s on-site dinosaur adventure park featuring life-size moving dinosaurs, adventure trails and family attractions, will host much of the Easter activity. Within the park, the new Wonka themed area will set the scene for Easter fun. Limited-edition Wonka chocolate bars will be available to purchase throughout the Easter holidays, with lucky visitors discovering Golden Tickets hidden inside some bars and winning prizes including a summer three-month Jurassic Newpark pass, an annual pass, a birthday party at Jurassic Newpark or an overnight stay at Newpark Hotel.

As an extra surprise, a Golden Ticket will also be hidden somewhere in the park over Easter weekend, adding an additional sense of excitement and discovery for families visiting Jurassic Newpark.

Within this new Wonka themed area, families will discover a series of playful games and challenges inspired by the world of Willy Wonka. Children can enjoy Wonka’s Fizzy Bubble Making Machine, try the Oompa Loompa Mystery Box Games, discover their fate on the Good or Bad Eggdicator, spin Wonka’s Wheel of Talent and take part in a range of Willy Wonka challenges.

Alongside the Wonka fun, Jurassic Newpark takes on a colourful seasonal feel for Easter. Young visitors can meet the Easter Bunny, cuddle baby rabbits and spot spring lambs in the petting farm, before hopping aboard the Wonka Express for a journey where storytelling and prehistoric adventure meet.

Families can make a full day of it in the park. Children can take flight on the Flying Pterosaur ride and explore Jurassic Castle, a vast wooden playground complete with tower, zipline, slide and ramparts. The covered Jurassic Bounce inflatable adventure park provides an all-weather space to burn off energy, while the Dinosaur Trail brings visitors face to face with lifesize dinosaurs including the mighty T-Rex and towering Brachiosaurus. The Dino Den Theatre features live, interactive shows packed with fun and fascinating facts.

Within the hotel, families can balance the high-energy outdoor fun with more relaxed moments. The leisure centre swimming pool, complete with children’s pool, offers indoor entertainment. Younger guests can enjoy crafts and games at the Jurassic Juniors Kids Camp with JJ the Dinosaur mascot, while ‘The Zone’ games rooms and dedicated toddler soft play area ensure entertainment continues indoors.

Hotel residents will also be able to take part in Newpark’s annual Easter Egg Hunt, a much-loved tradition for families staying at the hotel during the Easter break.
