Crowds gathered in Dunnamaggin at the weekend for the annual Easter parade to commemorate local man Pat Walsh, who lost his life in the Battle of Knocknagress in 1921.
Different representatives came from all walks of life, and Fianna Fail TD Peter 'Chap' Cleere addressed the gathering. Local school children sang at mass and did some Irish dancing displays.
The parade began with the FCA ,ONE and pipers marching from the school down to the statue of Cpt Pat Walsh. Fr Fergus said a decade of the rosary in Irish. Tom Hickey spoke, as did Deputy Cleere, and Rebecca sang a beautiful rendition of The Foggy Dew. The piper finished off with Amhrán na bhFiann.
