Grease is the word at Kilkenny Castle on Thursday

Kilkenny Castle will open this Thursday (June 30) for the first in a summer series of outdoor cinema in association with Happenings and promoters KPB.

Due to unforeseen screening issues, the screening of E.T will now take place on July 28 and the first screening is 1970’s romantic comedy Grease. The popular movie stars John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John.

There will be a cafe open on site, and people are invited to bring a picnic. Organisers advise to bring something warm and blankets to sit on.

Tickets are available online from and will be available from the ticket desk at Kilkenny Castle on Thursday. Tickets are priced at €8 (children) and €10 (Adults). Gates open at 8.30pm. For more visit
