CAMOGIE FUNDRAISER

The Christmas-themed fun gets going at Matt the Millers on Friday at 10pm, and costume wearing is welcome

With Kilkenny’s senior camogie team in All Ireland action shortly there are many ways you can show your support.

There’s plenty going on ahead of the September 9 action at Croke Park against Cork.

This Wednesday evening you can cheer the crew on at their training session in Nowlan Park. Gates open there at 6.30pm with fans invited to take along hurls, sliotars or anything else they’d like signed by county players or stay a while to pose for photos with the girls. There’ll be a raffle on the evening also.

For those aged over 18, on Friday evening Matt the Millers hosts a Belles and Balls Ho Ho Ho Christmas Party. Four months away from the annual visit of Santa Claus, the themed fun gets going at the John’s Bridge venue at 10pm and costume wearing is welcome.

On Sunday then, the craic moves to Thomastown GAA Club grounds at Grennan for Drive In Bingo.

You can play from your car and don’t forget to honk the horn for a check. Books cost €5 for single, €10 double, sheets are €3 or there’s two for €5. It starts at 2pm with a prize pot of €1,100.

Proceeds from each of the events will be added to the All-Ireland fundraising kitty.
