The full programme of events is:
Friday 9th Nov at 8pm: Official Opening of the festival at Rhu Glenn Hotel by Dr Alphonsus Cullinan, Bishop of Waterford & Lismore. Official lecture ‘ Catholic Ireland from 1878 to the Present’ by Dr Daithi O Corrain, DCU. Followed by refreshments. Adm €10.
Saturday 10th Nov: Historical tour for children. Kilkenny’s Medieval Mile Museum and Lego Hunt. Bus leaves Slieverue National School at 10am, returning 2.30pm approx. Cost €5.
Sunday 11th Nov: Mass at 10am in Slieverue. Concert in Rhu Glenn at 8pm featuring local singers and musicians. Adm €8.
Tuesday 13th Nov at 8pm in The Rower Parish Hall: An Historical Recall – the civil parish of The Rower, the Village and its environment, presented by Mr Jim Walsh. Adm €5.
Thursday 15th Nov at 8pm in John O’Donovan Centre, Slieverue: The War of Independence and Civil War in Co Kilkenny. Speaker is Mr Eoin Swithin Walsh. Adm €5.
Saturday 17th Nov: Guided tour of unique clustered farm houses of Mooncoin & Carrigeen outlining their origin, development and history. Guide is Mr Joe Sullivan. Meeting at Carrigeen Church Car Park at 2.30pm.
