Gardaí appeal for information following spate of burglaries in Kilkenny

Gardaí are investigating a number of burglaries in Kilkenny in recent days and are appealing to the public for assistance.

On Friday gardaí received a report of the theft of a chainsaw from a shed on farmland at Kylefarney, Ballyfoyle. The Stihl chainsaw was taken between 2pm and 3pm. Gardaí are appealing to anyone who noticed any suspicious persons or vehicles in the area or anyone who may have been offered the item for sale to contact gardaí in Kilkenny.

Gardaí are also investigating an attempted break in at a house in Greenfields in Kilkenny on January 6. Marks from an attempted break in were noticed on the side door of the house. The incident occurred between 8am and 6pm. Anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area is asked to contact Kilkenny Garda Station.

Meanwhile gardaí are also appealing for information following a burglary in Kilfera in Kilkenny where four bicycles were stolen from a garage. The bikes were taken between Saturday, December 31 and Tuesday, January 3 from a garage adjoining a house in Kilfera. The stolen bikes are described as: two red/black Cube racing bikes, a black/red Raleigh mountain bike and a black Bentini ladies bike. Gardai are appealing to anyone who may be offered these items for sale to contact Kilkenny Garda Station. The bikes are worth €3,000 in total. 

Finally a house at Greenfields, Kilkenny was ransacked during a burglary on Saturday (January 7). The glass on a rear door was broken to gain entry. Anyone who noticed anything suspicious in the area between 8am and 6pm is asked to contact Kilkenny Garda Station.
