Jysk Limited have hit a speed bump in plans to alter an existing retail unit in Kilkenny.

Kilkenny County Council have requested further information from the applicant in relation to the development.

The request from the local authority was made yesterday (Wednesday) and the planning application is now 'on hold' until the requested information is provided.

A final decision was originally due to be made this week, but will now inevitably be pushed back.

Once the relevant information is submitted, the application must be considered again before a decision is made.

Jysk originally applied to develop Unit 4 of Kilkenny Retail and Business Park at Springhill in November of last year.

The submitted plans sought to alter the existing retail unit to include the construction of a new first floor mezzanine retail space.

Also planned were internal alterations including the provision of storage/stock room, internal lift, circulation and escape stairs.
