New garda superintendent announced for Kilkenny

Superintendent Aidan Brennan will take up duty as the most senior ranking garda at Kilkenny Garda Station from next Monday.

Supt Brennan is well known locally and served as garda inspector in Kilkenny before being promoted to the rank of superintendent and taking up positions at New Ross and Carlow Garda Stations.

Meanwhile Superintendent Anthony Farrell has been transferred from Thomastown Garda Station to Carlow Garda Station.

Chief Superintendent Derek Hughes, who was Kilkenny's most recent superintendent was recently promoted and shall assume responsibility for Wexford and Wicklow Garda Divisions from next Monday.

Chief Superintendent Anthony Pettit shall assume responsibility for Waterford and Kilkenny/ Carlow Garda Divisions on transfer following the retirement of Chief Supt Padraig Dunne.
