Local gardaí are advising people not to engage with bogus callers to houses under the pretence of carrying out outdoor work, power washing, cleaning roofs, gutters or other household jobs.
A laminated notice is being made available at garda stations in Co Kilkenny stating: 'No workmen required or requested here. Thank you.'
