The effects of proposed traffic lights on the bridge in Graignamanagh are currently being investigated.
The modelling is being carried out as part of a plan to put a pedestrian crossing on the George Semple Bridge in the town.
At the recent meeting of Callan Thomastown municipal district councillors, Area Engineer Declan Murphy said traffic lights will need to be put on the bridge for a new pedestrian crossing. However, that could cause traffic disruption in other parts of the town, so computer modelling of the effect is taking place. All surveys of existing traffic have taken place.
