Permission granted to carry out works on protected structure in Kilkenny

The former Ulster Bank on High Street, Kilkenny

Permission has been granted to carry out works on 27 High Street, Kilkenny (formerly Ulster Bank).

The applicant had been seeking permission for the removal of an ATM, to be infilled with stone.

The night safe front panel is also to be replaced with a stainless steel blanking plate.

Also planned is the removal of the Ulster Bank raised letter shopfront sign, the hanging sign and the removal of Ulster Bank general blue signage.

Inside, the removal of loose furniture is planned, as well as the removal of Ulster Bank signage and merchandise on all floors.

Permission was granted, subject to five conditions, on December 13, 2023.
