The latest acts of antisocial activities in the Windgap area saw more rubbish being dumped on a scenic rural road overlooking the Lingaun Valley that was cleaned up just three weeks earlier. In the half a mile of the road that was de-littered, a half bag of rubbish from passing vehicles was collected.
It included builders waste, probably dumped from a paint bucket, complete with red rubber gloves. It also saw cigarette boxes make a return, along with the returnable and non-returnable but recyclable cans and bottles.

In the roadside ferns, one lot was barely visible and consisted of seven cans, two plastic bottles, along with white paper wrappings from fast food that looked like they were dumped from a bag. Also found were three Centra and one Gala stores, fast food wrappings.
Three luminous 'No Dumping' signs are already in the area and a number of Kilkenny County Council 'No Dumping' notice have been added.
However, it was to no avail as within twenty-four hours more packaging had appeared and it had multiplied six-fold within forty eight hours.
