Big day for local junior anglers as Kilkenny City and County club hold annual competition

The event takes place on August

Kilkenny City and County Anglers annual competition will take place on Sunday, August 25 on the River Nore, across the road from the Rock Bar on the Freshford Road.

People are asked to sign in from 9am to 4pm with a barbecue from 1pm and a prizegiving at 4.20pm. Entry is €5 and all are welcome.

The Inland Fisheries Board will also be on hand to give demonstrations on angling and to teach youngsters about the importance of biodiversity on the river. The competition is a fun event with the focus on participation and all children taking part will receive a prize.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.
