The Tower & Castle, based on John Street in Kilkenny City has bid a fond and emotional farewell to a valued member of staff who is departing the coffee shop after a number of years with the company.
Kilkenny woman Joy Morton was the cafe's first ever employee and following the completion of her third-level university studies has decided to step away from the coffee dock, leaving behind many dear friends, colleagues and customers.

"Sometimes saying goodbye is the hardest thing but while we miss Joy and are sorry to see her go, we are so happy for the bright future in which is in store for her," the Tower & Castle posted to social media.
"Joy was our first ever employee at Tower & Castle and has now graduated with an honours degree science and enters into her chosen career."
"Love and best wishes from Noel and all the staff at the Towe & Castle," the post concluded.
