Kilkenny Community Palestine Solidarity Group host film night

The Kilkenny Community Palestine Solidarity Group is holding a showing of a prize-winning Palestinian documentary, at St Canice’s Neighbourhood Hall this Friday (September 27).

The film, Five Broken Cameras, focuses on one five-year struggle of peaceful resistance and protest by villagers, against the illegal division and theft of their land and the destruction of their olive trees by Israeli forces.

“I film to hold onto my life. I film to heal. It helps me to confront life and survive. By healing, you resist oppression,” said the film maker Emad Burnat.

All are welcome to come to the viewing on Friday (the film is subtitled). Doors open at 6.30pm for tea and coffee and the film starts at 7pm.

Entry is free and all are welcome.
