Funding boost for outdoor amenities in Kilkenny

Over €55,000 has been allocated to two Kilkenny projects under the Governments Participation Nation Outdoor Fund according to Deputy John McGuinness.

“I’m delighted to confirm that funding of €45,000 has been allocated to Kilkenny Countryside Park for four Outdoor Exercise Zones along the Park trails and funding of €10,000 has been allocated to Slieverue Linear Park for an outdoor boules court and boules set,” said Deputy McGuinness.

This is fantastic news for these two projects in Kilkenny City and in South Kilkenny as they are both incredible amenities that are widely used by locals and visitors alike. We all know how im”portant it is to have outdoor recreational facilities like this so I’m delighted to see this investment coming to Kilkenny,” said Deputy McGuinness.

A total of €2.26 million has been allocated to 30 local sports partnerships across the country to support the purchase and installation of permanent sport infrastructure that can be placed on public land for community use.
