Kilkenny community raise massive sum of money in memory of much-loved local man

An awe-inspiring amount of money has been raised from the Adrian Hayden Memorial Walk as the Graignamanagh community continue to show their affection for the local man over a year after his passing.

Mr Hayden, from Graignamanagh in County Kilkenny passed away in December 2023, aged just 48 after a short-illness.

In his memory and to support the Hayden family, the local community rallied together last September and held a memorial walk which retraced his steps along his favourite paths on his beloved Brandon Hill.

The final total of €14,752.26 was boosted by a very generous donation of €10,000 from an anonymous source with the specific instruction that the money is to be donated to Irish Cancer Research on behalf of the walk.

The committee will meet with the Hayden family to discuss the allocation of remaining funds to the various charities.
