Tirlán CountryLife is returning to Bord Bia Bloom, Ireland’s premier gardening, food, and lifestyle festival, as the proud sponsor of the popular Postcard Gardens.
Running from May 29th to June 2nd, Bord Bia Bloom offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore innovative garden designs, with the Postcard Gardens standing out as a community-focused highlight.
The Postcard Gardens feature charming 2m x 3m plots, showcasing vibrant and imaginative designs created by community groups, schools, charitable organisations, and garden clubs. The petite spaces provide a platform to tell stories and celebrate creativity through garden design. Their emphasis on community spirit and innovation aligns closely with the core values of Tirlán CountryLife which operates garden centres in 15 communities across the midlands and south east. Each CountryLife store has its own skilled horticulturists and they are available year-round to assist members of the community with all gardening needs.
As part of this partnership, Tirlán CountryLife will give each shortlisted Postcard Garden a €200 voucher for plants from their stores, enabling participants to bring their creative visions to life.

The value of the Postcard Gardens initiative is also reflected in the experience of last year’s finalists. Teresa Walsh, Horticulturist, Tirlán CountryLife Castlecomer, Co Kilkenny. Outside of work, Teresa is also a community volunteer and a member of the Postcard Gardens finalist from Ballyfoyle in Kilkenny.
“Working on Our Sense of Place has been an incredible journey, showcasing the diverse talents within our local community. From the beautifully painted backdrop by a local artist to the collaborative efforts of young and old, everyone contributed their unique skills to create a biodiverse and sustainable garden that truly represents the surrounding landscape and the rich history of Ballyfoyle. As a horticulturist, it’s been truly inspiring to see how nature unites people, and I feel immensely proud knowing this garden will continue to thrive in Ballyfoyle for years to come.”
Ann Meaney, Chief Marketing & Customer Engagement Officer at Tirlán, said: “We are thrilled to return to Bord Bia Bloom as sponsors of the Postcard Gardens. This initiative embodies the values of sustainability, creativity, and community spirit that are at the heart of what Tirlán CountryLife strives to achieve.
“By supporting these inspiring gardens, we celebrate the incredible talent and dedication of community groups across Ireland, fostering a greener and more connected future. We’re excited to once again bring our passion for horticulture to life through this incredible event..”
Laura Douglas, Head of Bord Bia Bloom and Brand Partnerships said: “We are thrilled that Tirlán CountryLife is once again supporting our Postcard Gardens this year and with its strong horticultural presence and expertise, we believe that it will help us to continue to engage new gardeners and deliver a world-class, immersive experience.”Applications for the Postcard Gardens are open until March 6th.
