Callan could have a river swimming pool in the future
Consultants involved in planned works on the river through Callan will be reminded of important constraints on work dates.
Due to nature protection regulations the works can only take place in July and August - and local councillors have asked that this be stressed in advance so that the works can go ahead this summer.
Planned works last summer faced delays because of bad weather and were not able to be carried out.
At the recent meeting of Callan Thomastown Municipal District councillors, Cllr Joe Lyons said a commencement date for work in early July would be great. He asked that the constraints be communicated to contractors to ensure there are no delays in starting the work.
