For the past three years Castlecomer Estate Yard-based jewellers Dani and Tia Vellani have organised a fundraiser at teh Castlecomer Discovery Park in aid of the Friends of Castlecomer District Hospital.
In 2011, the husband-and-wife team who trade under “Artists by Night” raised some €3,252, all of which went to patient comfort at the hospital, and for which a cheque presentation was made to the hospital recently.
Dani and Tia would like to thank all in the community who lent their support to a function that proved to be both a social and a financial success.
The artists included Susan Boland, Aileen-Anne Brannigan, Cara Byrne, Maline Campbell, Tom Campbell, Pat Cantwell, Sadie Cramer, John Collins, Eugene Conway, David Donnelly, Claire Dunne, Pat Dunne, Selina Gittins, Paige Hagenov, Harry Harris, Deirdre Haughney, Johnny Hogan, Willy Johnson, Ned Kelly, Bernie Kirwan, Rhiannon Knott, Billy Mahon, Daithi Massey, Gerard McDonald, Pat Murray, David Slattery, Mary Slevin, Dani Vellani, Shaelin Vellani, Tia Vellani and Liam White.
The musicians who supported the event were David Breen, Barry Byrne, Colm Egan, Niamh O’Neill, Shaelin Vellani, Jennifer Ward and Geoff Warner-Clayton.
Raffle donors included Red Jasper Candle and Soap Factory, Chocolate Factory, Lime Tree Bistro, Curl Up N Dye Hair Salon and Dick Dooley Butcher.
And helpers included Chubby Brennan (MC), Tom Ferris (general help), Dean Hagenov (general help), Nina Hagenov (hostess), Sunny Knott (general help), Fonsie and George Mealy (auctioneers), Chrissy and Joe Murphy (food, wine and selling tickets), Padraig Murphy (printing), Anna and Evan Stewart (cafe), Chrissy and Seamus Walsh (food and wine), Maurice Shortall (publicity, general support), Discovery Park Board of Directors (use of facilities), Discovery Park Staff (general help), Eurospar (food), Jarrow Café Staff (general help) and Londis (food).
