Recent flooding in Graignamanagh

A new weather warning is in place from 4pm today until midnight next Monday with flooding expected in parts of Kilkenny.

According to the latest update from Met Eireann spells of heavy and persistent rainfall will continue throughout the week.

Flooding is likely due to a combination of already saturated ground, high river levels and high tides.

Close monitoring of local weather conditions is strongly advised via www.met.ie and river gauge data www.waterlevel.ie 

Meanwhile concerns have been expressed locally by a number of public representatives as the adverse weather conditions continue to cause havoc to homes and businesses across Kilkenny.
