New emergency response group in operation in Kilkenny City

A new established Community First Responser (CFR) group is now live and active in Kilkenny City as of last week.

Demand on the National Ambulance Service (NAS) remains extremely high, with incidents including cardiac arrest, choking, chest pain, stroke and other serious heart-related emergencies.

Volunteers are dispatched by the NAS following a 999/112 call providing rapid response to cardiac arrests, strokes, choking, and chest pain. They are dedicated to providing rapid medical response in emergency situations and is equipped with fully-trained volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds including healthcare, the emergency services, defence forces, business, and retirees.
