'Bittersweet' - Kilkenny shop says farewell to cherished staff member after 35 years

A Kilkenny newsagents has bid farewell to a much-valued staff member who has retired after 35 years working at the city store.

Simply known as Anne, behind the counter or at the deli, the local woman has been at the heart of the local community's lunchtimes at Nolan's Gala and, previously, at Centra for generations.

"A bittersweet moment for us this weekend as we say goodbye (and congratulations!) to Anne, who has officially retired after an incredible 35 years with us.

"Wishing her nothing but the very best in this next chapter, it’s so well deserved.

"Thank you for everything, Anne," they added.
