The late Tom Byrne mourned by his loving family

It was with deep sorrow and regret that local people learned of the passing last week of Tom Byrne late of Barna, Freshford after a long illness.


Although he had been unwell for some time his passing caused widespread sadness. Tom who was in his early 70s was widely known and respected in the area and within the County.

A quiet, inoffensive and good living gentleman he was a carpenter by trade and worked for Kilkenny County Council for over 40 years.

A devoted husband father and grandfather he will be missed by all who knew him.

His remains were removed from Kennedys Funeral home on Thursday evening last to St Lachtains Church. Funeral mass took place on Friday last followed by interment in St Lachtains Cemetery.

He is mourned by his wife Lucy, his daughters, Deirdre, Pamela and Lucy Jane, his sons in law, grandchildren, sister Kathleen, nieces, nephews and extended family to whom deepest sympathy is extended.
