OUTDOOR PURSUITS-Local Co.Councillor Tommy Prendergast has revealed that following a meeting with the relevant authorities that funds will be made available for the projected OUTDOOR PURSUITS CENTRE. The funding will come from Kilkenny Local Authorities and Kilkenny Leader Partnership.The project will be taken in four stages, namely,The provision of an Astroturf pitch adjacent to Duiske College ,the development of a tourism infratstructure, the construction of a tourism centre to accomodate training and activity functions and the development of a marina for boats. The total amount involved will be approx. a1m which when completed will significantly improve the area and provide much badly needed employment. Great credit is due to the people who worked so hard to bring the project to fruition.

NO LUCK FOR JUVENILE HURLERS- Despite a very spirited display in unseasonal weather conditions the combined schools team of Skeough and Graig lost out narrowly to a game Lisdowney side in the Cup Final. Despite the poor weather conditions both sides served up a very entertaining game with the North County’s ability to score goals the telling factor.Well done to the boys on reaching the final and their displays throughout the year brought great joy to all in charge.
