Kilmacow Playground Committee-Kilmacow Playground Committee was granted €45,000 by Kilkenny County Council towards to the provision of a playground at the Sports Complex, Kilmacow. The grant under the Community & Cultural Facilities Capital Scheme was approved at the Council meeting held on Monday, 18th June. This grant together with the grant approval from Kilkenny Leader Partnership and the funding raised locally by the Playground Committee should enable work to commence shortly on the playground. It is anticipated that the work on the playground will be completed by the end of August.
Cemetery Mass in Kilmacow-The annual cemetery Mass in Kilmacow will be held at St. Senan’s Church at 7.30pm on Friday, 6th July.
Successful ‘Buddy System’-The buddy system operated for the past eight weeks by Ms. Hamman who has been taking girls from 6th Class to Rosedale, Kilmacow to meet residents there has proven to be a great success. The residents and their ‘buddies’ formed a great bond and exchanged stories while the girls brought great energy and youth to Rosedale. Such was the success of the initiative that residents looked forward to the Wednesday afternoon visits and they look forward to the present 5th class girls coming to Rosedale next year. It was an enriching experience for all involved in the project.
Public meeting-A public meeting to discuss the issue of limescale in the public water supply will be held in the Community Hall in Kilmacow at 8.00pm on Wednesday, 18th July. Certain parts of Kilmacow have been subject to an increased concentration of limescale in the water supply since the new supply came into operation at the end of 2010.
ICA Annual Outing-The annual ICA outing will take place on Wednesday, 11th July. The bus will leave Kilmacow at 9.00am and follow a garden trail including Duckett’s Grove, Carlow and Rathwood and an evening meal in Bunclody. For information and bookings contact the ICA Committee. Non ICA members are more than welcome to travel.

Kilmacow Lotto-The wining numbers in last week’s lotto were 2, 6, 9 and 15. There were five Match 3 winners. The Jackpot for next Thursday night is €12,600.
