Whist Drive- A whist drive will be held in the Tullaroan community centre on Friday 7th September commencing at 9pm. The proceeds from the whist drive will go to the Aghour Group of Church of Ireland Parishes and your support would be very much appreciated.
D.V.D.-A D.V.D. of Mass that was con celebrated in the Tullaroan cemetery in 1987 and the Parish social with the junior set dancers will be on sale this weekend. The price is €5.00 and all proceeds will go to charity. For further information please contact Betty Payne or Breda Grace.
Junior Hurling-On Sunday morning last the Tullaroan junior hurling team played O’Loughlin Gaels in the first round of the Junior A hurling championship. This match was held in great conditions at the St. Lactain’s hurling grounds but unfortunately Tullaroan were well beaten on the day.
Fatima-There are some places available on the Pilgrimage to Fatima commencing on 8th October for seven nights. All Ireland Hurling-Tommy Walsh, Mountgale is wished all the best as he togs out on the Kilkenny senior hurling team who will play Galway in the All Ireland Hurling final on Sunday. Local publican John Connolly is organising a bus to travel to the match which will be leaving Tullaroan Village at 9am sharp.
Speech and Drama-Classes for 6 to 12 year old children will commence in Ballycallan hall on Tuesday 18th September with enrolment on September 11th. Classes will be held each Tuesday from 7pm to 7.45pm. Please contact Mary Purcell on 0872213274 if interested in joining.
Well Done To Tommy- Tommy Walsh, Tullaroan Village was on the Kilkenny U14 team who defeated Limerick, Tipperary and Galway in the preliminary rounds of the Tony Forristal Cup last weekend these wins set them up to play in the final on Sunday against Waterford where Kilkenny won. Tommy gave a mans display at full back.
First Friday- Fr. Patsy Guilfoyle, P.P. Tullaroan will visit the home bound this Friday at the usual time. If you would like Fr. Patsy to visit please contact him.
Camogie- The Tullaroan intermediate comogie went under to Ballyhale/ Shamrocks in the League Final held at Thomastown on Friday evening last.
Scoil Ruadháin- The boys and girls along with their teachers returned to Scoil Ruadháin on Monday last following the summer holidays. They are wished all the best for the coming term.
Field Day-There was great activity around Tullaroan on Sunday last when the field day commenced with thirty seven tractors travelling from the sports grounds up the Village to Mountgale and back to the sports grounds, this was a wonderful sight to see with the first few tractors being vintage. The sports day turned out to be a great success with plenty of activities for both young and old, face painting, bottle stall, teas and cakes, dolly donaugh stand, bouncing castles, shot put throwing, sponge throwing, camogie, hurling and many more. The Holmes family had one of the best model farm displays ever seen. A big thanks to the organising committee, volunteers and those who attended the day.
Pat Molloy Memorial Tournament-The tournament took place on Sunday 2nd September in the sports grounds where the first two matches saw Tullaroan and Galmoy meeting and Graigue-Ballycallan played John Lockes. In the second round of matches Tullaroan played Graigue-Ballycallan and Galmoy took on John Lockes. All four teams were presented with medals and refreshments by KIlkenny senior hurler Tommy Walsh and were kindly sponsored by the Molloy family, Ardabawn, Tullaroan.

U16 and U14 Hurling-The under 16 team are playing in the semi-final of the championship on Saturday next while the U-14s play Castlecomer in the shield on Wednesday 5th September.
U9 Hurling-The under 9 team took part in the Dicksboro tournament on Satuday 1st September. This was a very enjoyable day with Tullaroan playing James Stephens, Graigue-Ballycallan and Dunamaggin. In their final game they played Kilruane of Tipperary.

Croke Park Trip-The under 8 team enjoyed a great trip to Croke Park on Monday 27th August, where they had a great game against Oilgate of Wexford. Following the match they got a tour of the dressing rooms under the Cusack Stand. This was a great day for all where the team were presented in the presentation box of the Hogan Stand. After Croke Park the group travelled to The National Aquatic Centre where everyone enjoyed themselves for a few hours. The day concluded with refreshments in McDonalds.
