Tom Walsh Park was looking its best last Saturday 10th August, when the juvenile club held their annual Inter county Blitz hosting U8 and U10 teams from Cappataggle, Co Galway, Ballingarrry, Co Tipperary, Maynooth, Co Kildare and teams from the hosts Blacks and Whites also taking part. With over 120 young hurlers playing matches throughout the day, the large crowd of supporters were treated to a great display of hurling. Medals and trophies were presented to all clubs involved on the day. A big thank you to all the young players who participated in great spirit and to their mentors for getting them prepared for the day. Thanks to all those who helped get the pitch ready for the day, to the referees and thank you to all who helped out with the refreshments. A special word of thanks to the Murphy family for their continued support of the Blitz.

Commiserations to the Blacks and Whites Junior B team who lost out to Ballyragget last Sunday in the Northern Championship semi final. The team will rue some spurned goal chances in the second half that could well have changed the course of the game. However on the balance of play Ballyragget were deserved winners. The focus of the lads will now turn to training in preparation for the Junior Championship which commences in early September.
