Invitation to all to come and join the Moneenroe National School Centenary (1913-2013) celebrations which take place on Saturday 22nd June. The party starts in Railyard GAA pitch at 11am with underage football and hurling matches. Later in the afternoon the current Railyard team will take on a team of veterans of the game. There will be loads of activities and fun on the day for all ages with a super slide, pony and cart rides and the original police car from the Heartbeat T.V.series and lots more. ADMISSION is FREE. Mass at 6pm in Moneenroe Church will be celebrated by Bishop Freeman.There will be refreshments afterwards in the school and a commemorative book will be on sale. So come along and have a chat and reminisce on times gone by with old friends.
Congratulations to the Clogh / Moneenroe schools team who have reached the Cumann na mbunscoil final after defeating Galmoy in freshford last Wedesday by a single point.. Well done to all concerned and best of luck in the final.The boys battled hard to reverse a 4 point deficit midway through the second half. The panel on the day was Brandon McDonald, Eamon Brennan, Diarmuid Rowe, Dara Delaney, Thomas Brennan (capt.), Tom Buggy, Michael Doyle, Adam Maguire, Ciaran Cooney, Kyle Dune, Conor Byrne, Niall Egan, Martin Brennan, Dylan McDonald, James Love, Diarmuid Meally, Adam Purcell, and Darragh Brennan. They will now face unbeaten Tullaroan N.S. in the Roinn D Final which will be played in the upcoming weeks.
The under 10’s played in the festival finals in Nowlan Park on Saturday last with over 20 players taking part and.. a great day had by all
Clogh Handball Club played in the Leinster Intermediate InterClub Team of 4 final in Garryhill where they defeated Na Fianna from Dublin in a very close encounter. On the team from Clogh were brothers William and Daniel Love, Andrew Hosey and Andrew Lawlor. Best of luck to the team in the next stage which will be the All Ireland semi final.

Moneenroe Community Council have been awarded €500 under the Amenity Grants Scheme by Kilkenny County Council. Cllr. Maurice Shortall says the money will be spent on replacing seats at the Cemetery, plastering wall and tarmac.
Old School Crescent Residents Association also benefitted to the tune of €250 under the same scheme said Cllr. Shortall
Another All Ireland title for Clogh
On Sunday in Talbots Inch, Kilkenny, the All Ireland Junior Doubles Hardball final took place between Kilkenny and Limerick. Daniel Love (Clogh) paired up with Ciaran Neary (Talbots Inch) to take on Eamon Davern and John Keyes of Limerick. The Kilkenny duo pulled out all the stops to win the final 21-14 21-10.
The members of Kavanaghs Golf Society will hold their Presidents Cup outing on Saturday next 8 June with Tee Off times from 11 till 12 am. Later that night there will be a presentation and barbeque in Kavanaghs pub with music by Eddie Kenny. All are welcome.
This years Cemetery Masses will be celebrated in Clogh on Friday week 14th June and in Moneenroe on the following Friday 24th June at 7.30 pm.
