B.I.G. TIDY TOWNS - Eye Spy is on the rounds again. Our Lady Queen of the Universe School is looking splendid with lovely window boxes and the grass and flower beds well maintained. The Long Range is well looked after – fair play to all involved! Morrisseys Butchers smashing window boxes, nice bit of a colour and premises spotless inside and out! Nice One! Tom Connolly of Super Valu spotted spraying weeds early one morning. A few flower pots around with only weeds in them. Come on, there’s one near you please take care of it. BEAM Centre as always looks top class. Flower beds at Aldi are a picture. Presentation De La Salle and the houses on Oak Grove always at their best; just because something always looks good doesn’t mean we don’t notice. It’s good to see that Kilree Street and Upper Kilree tipping around and keeping the area litter free. Eye Spy will be spreading outwards to the approaches of the town in the next couple of weeks.
Pat on the back to the takeaway restaurant owners who take responsibility for keeping their areas litter free under ‘challenging circumstances’ ! Its not always humans either, the crows are masters at pulling stuff out of litter bins.
Take a bow if you are one of the civic minded people who have contributed to keeping our town looking so well – and it is looking very well indeed !!!
Tips: Cigarette ends – watch where you stub them out please, and drivers – don’t empty your ashtrays on the road. Pooper scoopers! Clean up after your doggies please.
