A VOLUNTEER organisation is seeking to recruit 45 people to build houses in Haiti this May.
To date, the organisation Haven has brought over 1,000 volunteers to Haiti to help build houses for thousands of families who were left homeless following the catastrophic earthquake in 2010.
The May Build It Week will take place in Gressier, approximately 20km outside of capital Port-au-Prince and beside the area that was the epicentre of the earthquake. Haven will be building 100 homes in conjunction with Oxfam. For Build It Week, Irish volunteers will work alongside the Haitian workforce on the construction of houses, a playground and a community centre.
Volunteers are required to raise €4,500, which goes towards the materials for the houses, local community development, meals, and transport to and from Haiti.
