A FREE information evening aimed at the 19,000 people living with arthritis in Kilkenny will take place later this month.
The newly-established Arthritis Ireland Kilkenny Branch will host its first information evening in September on how to get started with exercise and stay motivated as part of Arthritis Ireland’s ‘Moving Is the Best Medicine’ campaign.
This admission-free event will take place in the City Suite of Hotel Kilkenny on September 26 at 7.30pm. Featuring a number of expert speakers, including Lorna Raggett, Senior Occupational Therapist who will present on the role of the occupational therapist and patient education in lifestyle management, and Caitriona Corr, Development Officer with Kilkenny Recreation and Sports Partnership, it promises to be a fun and informative evening.
“It is with great pleasure that we can announce the first ever information evening to be held by Arthritis Ireland’s newly-established Kilkenny branch,” Branch PRO Fiona O’Neill said. “There are around 19,000 people living with arthritis in Kilkenny and the branch will strive to meet the needs of these people with the organisation of meetings such as this and by providing other Arthritis Ireland support services, like the ‘Living Well with Arthritis’ course.”
Attendees on the night will also be invited to take part in a questionnaire following the event and the Kilkenny Branch committee, who will be voted in on the night, will be present to distribute free leaflets and take queries. Anybody interested in attending can book a place by calling 1890 252 846 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
