Kilmacow 4 Ballyduff 1

The Under 14s second match in three days was a wonderful victory at home to Ballyduff. It was a fairly even first half but the new management team of Gary and Declan would have expected the lads to be ahead. However, a goal on the stroke of half time from David Costello, only equalised an earlier score by Ballyduff. The second half saw Kilmacow take control and score three more goals to end up convincing winners. Even though he was ably assisted by his team mates it also turned into the David Costelloe show as he scored all the goals, one a penalty, to end the match scoring all four goals, a fantastic achievement. Niall Bowe, missing on Thursday, returned to the squad for this match.

Dungarvan 1 Kilmacow 3

Our under 12 side played their first match of the season away to Dungarvan who had already chalked up three victories and went home after a superb win. A very entertaining first half ended scoreless. Our boys took the lead when Brian O’Mara put Conor Lyons through; his fine shot was parried by the Dungarvan keeper only for Darragh McDonald to fire home the rebound. The home side had a chance to equalise shortly afterwards but they missed a penalty. They were further punished within a few minutes when Darragh scored his second after a lovely passing move involving Dean Scully, Sean Blanchfield and Tom Butler. Dungarvan pulled a goal back but Darragh completed his hat trick for a superb 3-1 victory.

KILMACOW: Dylan Moore; Brian O’Mara, Patrick Dollard (Capt), Fergal Suffin, Keith Butler; Tom Butler, Tom Costelloe; Dean Scully, Sean Blanchfield, Darragh McDonald; Conor Lyons. Res.: Brandon Walsh, Kieran Wallis.
