If you do not wish for these photos to leave your home a member of the organizing committee will call to your home and copy them or you can email us a copy of them with names and details. Photos tell such a wonderful story and it would be an excellent contribution in piecing some of our together, especially for the young generation who would have little knowledge of what Parish or the people were like back then. We would also be grateful if anyone knows of the whereabouts of Fr Moran’s films? If anyone has them we can have them restored and copied and returned to you. COMMUNITY ALERT - Held its AGM last Tuesday night. A large crowd attended and some new initiatives were discussed. Coming into the winter month’s crime usually increases in our parish. A number of homes were broken into, a few car trailers and horse boxes were stolen in the last month. Householders and farmers are encouraged to make their premises safe by installing alarms and locks on valuable equipment. The local Community Alert Committee encourages people to follow the following tips to make our parish a safer place to live: 1. Get to know your neighbours particularly those living alone and be a good neighbour to them. Call in and visit, run an errand - it’s the small things and the human contact that count. 2 Be Alert - if you see somebody or a vehicle acting suspiciously in your area, call the Gardai immediately. 3 Keep an eye on your property and that of your neighbours - help to prevent vandalism and theft.4 Be aware of other safety initiatives. Your community needs you, play your part.
