Just a short walk along the Quay towards Dangan you will come upon the small area that has been sign posted as an Irish Wildflower Meadow. A circular walkway has been cut for interested visitors to wander around it. This area, along with the Upper Paddock which is being developed above the Quay Car Park by the 2Hour Gang, will form the basis of our Local Area Biodiversity Plan which will encompass the whole of the town. Much work in this area lies ahead and anyone interested in this subject and those wishing to learn more about it are welcome to join our Biodiversity Field Team. Please phone Sophie on 0863390324.
There are still some dusty and dirty facades in and around the town that could do with wash down to freshen up the appearance. Owners and Tenants are requested to step outside and take a look.
The 2Hour Gang will assemble at the Quay Car Park next Saturday, 29 June, for a variety of tasks including some additional work alongside the Waterford approach road. See you then.
We are still looking for a bee enthusiast who is prepared to help us set up an apiary. Phone Colin on 0872186309.
The Cemetery Mass will be held in St Mary’s New Cemetery on Friday 2nd August.
