Dungarvan residents committed to taking care of their village

SURVING -Dungarvan is a small village devastated by Government decisions and policies that destroyed rural life. The closure of the local school, the closure of the local post office all in the name of progress tore the heart out of the village as it did to many other villages in Ireland. Small as it is, the residents of Dungarvan Village pulled together and committed themselves to taking care of their village. They formed a residents association and entered the Tidy Towns competition. The Residents Association evolved into the Dungarvan Development Association and went on to earn many awards and high marks in the Tidy Towns Competition. The aim of the Development Association is not about winning prizes, it is about creating a happy place for their children and grandchildren , so let everyone in the village join in and make Dungarvan your place .
