Irish Wheelchair Association-The North Kilkenny Branch of the Irish Wheelchair Association extend sincere thanks to all who contributed so generously to their recent Church gate collection. The amount raised was €1,086. This was an excellent response and all the money will be used for this worthy cause.
Whist- The series of Summer whist drives continued in St. Mary’s Hall last Friday night with a very good attendance. The prize winners were- Top Score Bridie Bergin. Winners Bridie Maher, Lena McEvoy, Nancy Ryan, Sheila McGree, Bridie Medcalf, Sean Hickey, Lorna Allen, Mary Orr, Kitty Butler, Margaret Rochford, Mary Doheny, Ciara O’Shea. 13 tricks- Lorna Allen and Bridie Bergin. Lucky number... Rose Corcoran. Raffle Winners- Rose Corcoran, Patricia Doheny, Kathleen Phelan, Mary Burke, Bridie Maher, Margaret Rochford. The next whist drive will be held on Friday Sept 14th in St Mary’s Hall.
Sympathy-. We offer sincere Sympathy to the family, friends and neighbours of the late Tom Ryan, Bayswell who died recently. Tom was a member of a very popular family in the parish and his passing is deeply regretted. Burial took place in Crosspatrick Cemetery after requiem Mass in Crosspatrick Church. May he rest in peace.
500 Club Draw- The on going annual draw for the 500 Club is in progress and will continue monthly until December. The prizes are excellent 1st €600, 2nd €250., 3rd 4th 5th €100 6th €75. Tickets on sale in local shops and from any committee member. All monies raised will be used in the maintenance and refurbishment of the hall.
Fatima- The National pilgrimage of the World Apostolate of Fatima will be held in Holy Cross Abbey on Sunday August 26th at 2.30pm. Commencing with Rosary, followed by Stations of the Cross, anointing of the sick and concluding with Mass at 4pm. Chief celebrant of the Mass will be Most Rev Dr. Dermot Clifford.
