FUN IN THE SUN - Piltown Under-12 Girls Gaelic Football team took part in Blitz this morning hosted by Kilkenny City in glorious sunshine.  The blitz had seven teams with Piltown playing Thomastown, Muckalee and Kilkenny City in the final game. The intensity and skill was super throughout and in particular in the second half of the final game against Kilkenny City.  Some of the saving, blocking, tackling and workrate was immense despite the warm conditions. Many of the Piltown team were making their debut in Football and it was encouraging to see such a huge improvement over the course of the morning.

Community Centre Library - The Community Centre Library is looking for donations all types of books & magazines especially Hobbies, Arts & Crafts, Music & Reference. Has anybody for instance got old songbooks or sheet-music to donate? Maybe someone has DVDs, CDs, audio tapes or even records to contribute.

 Piltown AFC - Congratulations to Piltown AFC under 16 girls team who won the under 16 cup on Tuesday night. The game was played in Ferrybank against Tramore. The final score was 3-1 with goals from Lisa Mc Carthy & Claire Power.

 Indoor Bowls - Indoor Bowls have commenced in the Community Hall since Monday 27th May & will run every Monday from 10.30a.m to 11.30a.m coached by Seamus Tully. Just come along if you are interested.

 Gaelic4Mothers & Others - The Gaelic4Mothers & Others initiative is an innovative way to introduce mothers & other women to playing Ladies Gaelic Football. Mothers often drop their kids to training & call back to collect them, but the LGFA wants to change that. The Gaelic4Mothers & Others initiative sees women playing Ladies Gaelic Football in a fun, non-competitive & social environment. Gaelic4Mothers & Others provides an opportunity for women to get their recommended weekly exercise in a fun way while meeting other mothers in the area. Piltown Club will host a 6 week trial on Thursday’s at 8:15pm, starting this Thurs 30th May. Participants are advised that for the trial period they do so at their own risk & should take personal precautions. Comfortable runners/boots & playing gear will be sufficient initially.
