Football - Muckalee senior footballers qualified for the League Final when they overcame near neighbours Railyard in the semi-final at Saint James’s Park. A great start by Muckalee wh0 scored two early goals put them in a strong position at half time 2-8 to 0-2.The goals came from Brian Byrne and Robert Shore ,with the assists from Robert Shore and John Maher . Railyard came more into the game in the second half put could not bridge the gap and with Robert Shore in fine point scoring form it was the double winners from last year who advanced .Muckalee’s third goal was scored after the combined efforts of Colin McGrath and Brian Byrne got the ball over the line. Final score 3-15 to 1-6.The final is due to be played next week v Kilmoganny.

Adult Fitness and Exercise Classes - Commencing Thursday 21st March for 10 weeks from 8 to 9pm.
These classes are run by a qualified fitness trainer and are open to all over 18’s. All fitness levels catered for. Registration begins at 7.30p.m.
Initial registration fee of €20 plus a €3 charge per class.
Participants should bring a towel or mat.

Handball - Congratulations to Mark Dowling of Mothel handball Club and his partner Conor Lyons of the St. Canices Handball Club on winning the Leinster U17 Doubles playing for Kilkenny. They lads over came the challenge of Wexford in the final, which was played in St.Joseph’s in Wexford Town last Saturday. Winning in two games the lads got off to a flying start in each game and never allowed the Wexford lads to settle. They Kilkenny pair move on to the All-Ireland Semi Final next weekend which will be played in a Connacht venue. We wish the pair of lads the best of luck.
Leinster Girls Cumann na mBunscoil Finals - The Leinster Girls Cumann na mBunscoil Finals girl’s competition took place in Leixlip on Wednesday 6th March 2013. Representing Muckalee National School in U11 doubles handball were Noelle Dowling and Orla Nolan who qualified by winning CnaB Kilkenny. In all 5 counties took part and a very high standard of handball was on display throughout the day. They pair of girls won all there games and now go on to represent Leinster in the National Girls CnaB day in Kingscourt on Saturday March 23rd.
The National Day will be the first She’s Ace Day of the year, and will see an abundance of top quality ladies Handball on offer, with the Minor Ladies & Ladies Open All-Ireland Singles Finals proceeding the CnaB event. All the best to Orla and Noelle in this event.
All Ireland Raquetball - Kilkenny won the All Ireland Club Racquetball Championship when they defeated Queens of Belfast at the Championship Finals held at the handball & racquetball courts in Pearse Stadium, Galway.
Mark Murphy and Eamonn Buggy represented Kilkenny in the Club Racquetball Championships which were held in Galway on Saturday.
They beat Galway and Queens of Belfast to win it. First time for Kilkenny to win it in ten years. They played both singles and doubles.
