Mount Brandon Climb - On Saturday 23rd March a bus will leave Tullaroan to travel to Kerry and their aim will be climb Mt. Brandon. This is a fundraiser for the Irish Pilgrimage Trust. If you are interested in going there are two seats still available.
Recently Deceased - The death took place last week of Mary Farragher (nee Butler), Kyle, Tullaroan and Cork. Mary was sister of Richard, Paddy, Ann and the late Matty.

Mrs. Eva Moore, London, wife of the late Paddy formerly Oldtown, Tullaroan and mother of John will be interred on 14th March in London. Deep sympathy to the Butler, Breen and Moore families.
Kilkenny Senior Hurlers Family Race Day - Gowran Park will host a family race day for the Kilkenny hurlers on Saturday 23rd March. The first race on the card is the Tommy Walsh Maiden Hurdle. This promises to be a great day out .Tickets cost €10 euro for Adults and under 16s are free. Tickets can be purchased from any Club Officer.
Loreto Win O’Neills All Ireland Senior A Post Primary Schools Camogie Final -Miriam Walsh, Mountgale captained the Loreto Senior camogie team to win their four-in-a-row camogie all Ireland by overcoming St. Brigid’s on a scoreling Loreto 1-11 to St. Brigids 1-6. Miriam also received player of the match. Sarah Lanigan, Rathealy played her part in the victory. Well done to both girls.
Ella Moore, Oldtown will line out for the Loreto in the junior All Ireland Final this week, Ella is wished all the best.

U14 Football - On Saturday last at the Tullaroan sports grounds the U 14 football team played Cloneen/Railyard in the league.. This was a very well contested game and going in at half time the score was Tullaroan 2-5 to Cloneen/Railyard 3-3. In the second half Cloneen/Railyard were the stronger team and ran out winners on a scoreline of 4-13 to 3-6.

Fundraiser’ For the ‘Immersion Project’ - Tullaroan men Tom Butler and Martin Walsh along with fellow Callan C.B.S. teacher Canice Hickey will be travelling to Zambia this Easter. The trip is part of the upcoming immersion project in 2014, in which the three will bring ten students to Zambia to experience African life.
In order to raise the necessary finances for the trip the group will be holding a number of fundraisers over the next twelve months. The first of these will be a bag pack in Super Value Callan on the 15th and 16th March.
The group will also be holding a bucket collection at the Kilkenny V Waterford hurling match at Nowlan Park, Kilkenny on 18th March. All support would be very much appreciated.
Tullaroan Active Retirement Association - The group will meet at 2pm in the community centre on Wednesday 13th March. New members are always welcome.
Ireland’s Strongest Man - On Saturday last James Fennelly, Tullaroan appeared on the R.T.E. Late Late Show, where he spoke to Ryan Tubridy about his successful career and how he came to be Ireland’s strongest man for four years in a row. James is co-owner of Fennelly Fitness Gym in Kilkenny and featured on ‘Gym Junkies’ on R.T.E 2 on Monday last.
Whist Drive - A whist drive will take place on Wednesday 13th March in the community centre commencing at 8.30pm. Proceeds to Parish Funds. There will also be a whist drive on Saturday 16th March commencing at 8.45pm and proceeds will go to the Kilkenny mini rugby tour fund. All are welcome.
Tullaroan Camogie Club Fundraiser - On Sunday 31st March at the ‘Valley Inn’, Woodsgift the Tullaroan camogie club hold a Cabaret commencing at 8pm with music by ‘The Baby Powers’, and admission €5.00, all support would be very much appreciated. On the same afternoon the ‘Valley Inn’ will host a darts tournament. The camogie team have commenced training for 2013 under manager/trainer Canice Brennan. Good luck to the team for the coming year.
