Camogie - Congratulations to the Tullaroan intermediate camogie team who overcame Piltown in the intermediate championship camogie semi-final last Sunday. They will now play the Rower/Inistioge in the County Final and all support would be very much appreciated. This team has done very well over the last number of years coming from junior ranks into intermediate and they are wished all the best in the County Final.
Tullaroan Group Water Scheme - The A.G.M. will be held in the Community Centre on Thursday 27th September at 8.30pm. Due to the increase costs of Electricity, Insurance, Maintenance etc. the group feels it will be necessary to increase contributions for the coming year. To discuss this and the future of the scheme, a member of each household in the scheme is asked to please attend
Active Retirement Group - The group will meet on Wednesday 26th September in the Tullaroan Community Centre after Mass and Anointing of the sick in The Church of The Assumption at 2pm. New members are always welcome.
Best wishes Tommy - Tommy Walsh, Moungale who will line out for the Kilkenny Senior Hurling Team as they face Galway in the All Ireland replay at Croke Park on Sunday is wished all the best.
Christmas Concert - Preparations are in progress for the Christmas Concert which will be taking place on 7th and 8th December at the community Centre. The drama group will be meeting soon to cast for play/sketches and new members will be most welcome. Further details next week.
Football - Joey Walshe, Tullaroan Village had a great day in Corke Park on Sunday last as he lined out with the Donegal team who played football at half time during the All Ireland Football Final between Mayo and Donegal. Earlier in the day Joey along with the other players were introduced to Mr. Liam O’Neill, G.A.A. President and had their photograph taken with him.
Golf Society Captains Day - The Tullaroan golf society held their captain ( Eamon Campion’s) outing at the Rathdowney Golf Club recently. Twenty one players took part and winner was Mick Tobin, 2nd Dick Walshe (The Village), 3rd. Tom Gaffney, nearest the pin Mick Tobin, longest drive Anslem Molloy. The player of the year trophy went to Eddie Carter and past captains prize to Eamon Sweeney. A big thanks to all associated with the running of the society for the past year.
Sympathy - The death took place last week of Mrs. Josephine Fredricksen (nee Doheny), Gathabawn and New York. Josephine was sister of Pierce Doheny, Rathhealy and Mrs. Eileen Butler, Trenchardstown, Tullaroan. Deep sympathy to the Fredricksen and Doheny Family.
Hurlers Win The Duggan Steel Hurling Championship Final - Congratulations goes to the U-16s who won the Roinn B Duggan Steel Hurling Championship Final against Conahy Shamrocks on Saturday. Played in ideal conditions in Freshford, the game was a tense thriller from start to finish. Tullaroan opened scoring in the 3rd minute with a point by Liam Teehan. Shane Walsh added another from a free in the 4th minute. Conahy were awarded a penalty which was duly saved but the rebound shot went over the bar to register Conahy’s first score. Conahy then worked the ball up field to finish a great shot to the net and quickly followed that up with a point. John Dooley playing for the injured Jim Moore ran onto a great pass from Shane Walsh to blast the ball to the net leaving the sides level on 1-2 each after 10 minutes of play. Further points from John Dooley (2), John Walton (1) and Shane Walsh (2) saw Tullaroan ahead a half time by 1-7 to 1-2 with still all to play for. At the start of the second half it was Conahy that had the ideal start with a goal in the 2nd minute. Shane Walsh followed up a minute later with a point from a placed ball but the next two scores were points for Conahy. Tullaroan were awarded free from which Shane Walsh duly converted to leave the scores after 10 minutes Tullaroan 1-9 Conahy Shamrocks 2-4. John Walton added another point for Tullaroan as did Conahy in the 16 minute to leave just 2 points between the sides. Shane Walsh put another point over from a placed ball in the 18 minute but Conahy did the same in the 25 minute. With only 2 points between the sides and still all to play for and both teams giving their all, it was until Bob Cuddihy found himself with the ball on the 65 yard line deep in injury time and worked it up to the 45 before sending the ball over the bar to finish the game. Final Score Tullaroan 1-12 Conahy Shamrocks 2-6. Great credit to both teams for the standard of hurling and gamesmanship. Jack Keoghan captain of the side accepted the cup from Joe Pyke on behalf of the Tullaroan team.

Prague House - Prague House fundraising committee is holding a raffle commencing in October for three months. There will be ten draws in in total and first prize in each draw will be €1000.00 with many other prizes. Members of the committee will be calling to all homes in the coming weeks to sell tickets costing €30.00 each. Your support would be gratefully appreciated.

Whist Drive - The first of the winter whist drives will be held in the Community Centre on Wednesday 26th September at 8.30pm sharp. Proceeds will go the the Community Centre.
Happy Birthday Ellen - Mrs. Ellen Norton, Ardabawn, Tullaroan recently celebrated her 80th birthday along with her husband Danny, children and grandchildren some of whom came over from England for the occasion.
Visitation of the Sick - The home bound will be visited by Fr. Patsy Guilfoyle P.P. on Friday 28th September following 9.30am Mass instead of the first Friday of October.
