CALVARY CEMETERY - The annual general meeting of the Calvary Cemetery Committee on the 30th January and it was encouraging to see such an interest by the big attendance. The follwing were elected. Chairperson, Maureen Cahill. Hon. Sec. Geraldine Daly. Hon. Treas. Mary Moylan. The following were elected on to the committee, Maurice Kelly,Gavin Kelly, Nickey o’Carroll. Brendan Moylan, Noeleen Mahon, Stasia Fitzgerald Matt Dunne and Nathan Dunne.It is planned that a general cleanup will commence in early March.
LOTTO - A few short weeks ago the 10,000 euro jackpot was won but now the big prize is worth 8,000. Last weeks numbers were 1,15,22,& 23.No winner of the major prize but the following were the lucky winners of the consolation prizes, Marina Byrne, Brendan Savage, Kathleen Griffin, Emer Murphy and Maureen O’Donnell.
COMMUNITY GARDEN - The annual general meeting of the Graignamanagh Community Garden Group will be held on Thursday 7th March. The venue is the Tigin adjacent to the Abbey Hall.The garden will shortly be getting back to production agani following the Winter break and are full of neww ideas for the coming season. BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT - KILKEnNY BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT will hold “A HEALING GROUP” for people who have been bereaved by suicide for at least six weeks. This group will meet for six weeks in a row and this year they will take place at VILLA MARIA, TALBOTS INCH KILKENNY. the first meeting will be on Tuesday 19th February and will continue on Tuesdays for six weeks. The aims of the group are to help the participantsto explore loss in a safe environment, to help feel comfortable in their understanding their grief which may involve isolation. stigma, guilt or blame. It will also provide opportunies to meet and share withh others who have had similar experiences, to discuss strategies and to identify feeling and also to remember the deceased.
