Ladies Football Fundraiser - Muckalee ladies football club will hold a fund-raiser in the form of a used clothing collection on Saturday the 23rd of February 2013.
Mobile phones and books (no school books, magazines or diaries please) will be accepted also, but please put in separate bags. Drop off in Muckalee Church carpark on the 23rd before 11am please.
Bereavement - Kilkenny Bereavement Support will hold “A Healing Group” for people who have been bereaved by suicide for at least six months. This group will meet for 6 weeks in a row. This year the meetings will take place in Villa Maria, Talbots Inch, Kilkenny commencing on Tuesday 19th February at 8.00pm and will continue on the following Tuesday nights.
The aims of the group are to help the participants to explore their loss in a safe environment, to help them feel comfortable in understanding their grief which may involve isolation, stigma, guilt or blame.
It will also provide opportunities to meet and share with others who have had similar experiences, to discuss coping strategies, to identify feelings and to remember the deceased.

Credit Union Quiz - Congratulations to the under-11 team of Shauna Coady, Kate Cullen, Shane O’Neill and Joseph Reid from Coon N.S. who won their
heat of the Credit Union Quiz in Castlecomer recently. They have now qualified for the regional final which will be held shortly. Well done
also to the under-13 team of Darcy Hutchison-Lockwood, Grainne Kelly, Aoife O’Neill and Ronan Shore who, in a very close run competition, were 2nd in their age-group. Home win for Senior Footballers - Two sides who had recorded victories in their opening games clashed at Muckalee in this well contested second round fixture. Muckalee started well but each side had its periods of dominance and O Loughlin Gaels were unlucky not to be level at half time when the score was 0-5 to 0-4 . The Morrissey brothers who scored some well worked points in the early minutes of the new half and goals from Canice Maher after a pass from Robert Shore and Paul Maher after a pass from John Maher set Muckalee up for the win. Final score 2-9 t0 0-4.

Juniors lose out - Muckalee Junior Footballers were no match for a strong Railyard side in this second round League game played in Muckalee. Railyard got through for some early goals and it was an uphill battle after that but the lads never gave up trying . Muckalee fielded some newcomers to this grade ,Alan Lalor, Damien Egan ,Jack Dowling, Ronan Tynan, all who done well. Final score 4-4 to 0-2.

Kilquan Players - Due to three sell out nights in January, Kilquan players are putting on the play “Many young men of Twenty “ by John B. Keane for two extra nights in Coon Hall, Friday 23rd February at 8pm. and Saturday 24th February at 8.15pm. Bookings 087-2228911.
House of Stories - A night of story telling will take place in Coon Hall on Sunday, 17th February from 8- 10.30pm. Admission is free and all are welcome.
