On Tour in Dagersheim-The Timpeall Cnoc Ceili Band joined the Acorn Club from Freshford in presenting ‘A Musical Tour of Ireland’ in the Festhalle Dagersheim last weekend as part of a 4 day tour of Germany and Switzerland. They were first on the main stage at the Trad Fest in Kilkenny on 16 March.
All Ireland Final beckons-William Love travelled to Bofield, County Mayo to play Mayo’s Ciaran Burke in the Junior Singles All Ireland semi final in which William came out victorious and now goes on to the All Ireland Final against an opponent from Munster or Ulster..
In the All Ireland ladies intermediate singles semi final Mary Phelan was unfortunately besten by Amy Corrigan from Mayo.
In Minor Doubles Leinster Final Brian Mahon and JJ English (Goresbridge} were defeated by Evan and Dylan Sheridan (Meath).
In County Intermediate Doubles Brendan Hosey and Andrew Lawlor defeated John Morrissey and Kirk Green (O’Loughlins).
In Juvenile Leinster Finals were held in Wexford on Saturday last. Girls under 17doubles Denise Love and Aoidean Hennessy were deemed Leinster winners as their opponents had to withdraw.
In under 16 doubles ( Padraig Cooney and Dylan Caulfield (Kilfane) defeated Daniel Kavanagh/Dylan Bolger (Wexford).
SHAVE OR DYE-A lively night is on the cards for Mahons Lounge on Saturday 6 April when a number of local volunteers will have their heads shaved or coloured to raise funds for the Irish Cancer Society. Music will be provided by Michael Kealy and hot food will be provided. There will be many spot prizes on offer. The organisers are calling on local people to take part in this event and to support a very worthy cause.
playground-Clogh Community Playground The Community Council has secured planning permission for the development of a playground at the Community Field and Walking Track. They are in the process of putting together a sub-committee to overlook the tender process and overall development of the project. They would like to invite parents of children onto the committee to offer their views and help. croagh Patrick-The Clogh Community Councils trip to Croagh Patrick over the St. Patricks Holiday weekend brought a good response and the organising committee were very pleased with the outcome. Clogh Community Council have announced that there will be no Bingo on Friday next (Good Friday).

BREAK IN-A sneak break in occurred at the Parish Centre at about 12.30 am on Friday morning last but the thieves were disturbed by a few locals on their way home from a village pub. Entry was gained through a back window to the kitchen. A large stone was used to break the glass and the perpetrator escaped through a front window while the decent citizens were at the rere of the building. A black mountain bike was found near the scene and this had been stolen from the Chatsworth houses earlier. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Gardai.
FAS AGM-The local board of the Social Employment scheme has announced that the AGM for 2013 will tak place on Thursday 11 April at 8 pm in the Fas office.
